It really depends on the shot. i tend to find myself alone quite a bit, so that's not a problem. Throw up the g'pod and set the timer (10-sec) and away we go. i might do some cropping, exposure and/or color correction, though more complicated shots might need more work.

Hi Woofer, I've been thinking about getting a Gorillapod for a few weeks now, are there any disadvantages to using one ? I think I know what your answer may be as I can see you have two of 'em, but just thought I'd ask anyway.
Oh, and glad you made it out of the jeep okay after the wheel fell off. Man, that looked hairy.
Hugs mate.

i can't think of a disadvantage, especially if you're using little point-n-shoot's like i do. The big advantage is that you don't need a flat surface or clamp it around something. Fun!

I can only hope your lens does not fall off and go rolling down the street....that is, now that you have a reputation....!

Dearest Woofer,

I write to you with a question about your Gorillapod. Does yours have a leg that slides off? If so is it so that you can get rid of one if it's in the way? I've had mine for a while now but one of the legs slid off and I couldn't see anywhere that it's supposed to.

Love
Jason

You're joking, right? Is this a dig about the wheel? The duct tape on the one g'pod? If it's sliding off, then it won't hold it tight. Take it back and ask for a replacement.

Oh no, no dig at all! I found it odd that the leg came off so easily that it made me think it was meant to. Oh, well, I'll glue it I think because I can't live without it. Thanks sexpot!

It makes me think of the episode of the Simpsons, when they get the house of the future, and the HAL/Pierce Brosnan character falls in love with Marge! (except that Woofer doesn't look much like Marge....)
