Sometimes you GOTTA come across that way...or at least with that much passion...to get through or to be heard above all the chatter. i started getting involved as soon as i got out of the Army - you're forbidden while you're in - and it's ALL important since it ALL effects you and your loved ones in one way or another.

You're Awesome Woofer. I hope your many friends and fans take your words to heart. We really need to change the direction of things in this country and more republicans in office isn't going to do that.

Thanks, Marvin. That's my point. We can split hairs and bitch next year...but giving up and sitting it out is just as bad - if not WORSE - than siding with the enemy.

I have some SERIOUS issues about Mr. Colonna. He's been the topic of some heated debate in our neighborhood. But it's your blog and I won't take up space with my opinions of someone. I met him in person. Had him put a yard sign in my yard. About a week ago it went into the dumpster.

I think that's entirely Woofer's point. Too often, liberals get all bent out of shape because while Candidate X is great, there's one issue on which he's a total douchebag. Meanwhile, Candidate Y is a conservative who all the other conservatives will vote for, lemming-like, even though he may have one minor issue (e.g., stem cell research, he's a Morman and not a true Christian, etc) they don't like. And so the Candidate Y wins, and we get a totally f*cked up agenda instead of a politician who is mostly on our side and may even vote against his own stand if forced into line by the party's big guns. We outnumber the conservatives. But we often don't vote or maybe vote for Nader or some other minor party.

And for the record, when it comes to Iraq the Dems don't have a majority in the Senate. Lieberman votes solidly with the GOP on that issue, meaning a 50/50 tie which is broken by Chaney. That's a lie that the media won't talk about.

I agree and I don't rule out a candidate just because of one issue or even two issues. I do look at the whole picture. I also look at what type of person a candidate is. When I dig into someone (yes we all have skeletons) I just came up with some shady stuff I didn't like in him or in any person for that matter.
