Humm doesn't look easy to pay taxes if you work in different states...

Much more easier here

American taxes are twisted. Up here, even if you work in multiple provinces, you only pay the provincial surtax for the province you live in. Everything else is just the Federal level and they dole out any cash to the provinces for you. RRSPs and paycheck tax over-payments ($25 extra per paycheck) usually ensure a small refund to buy some goody or take that special person out for a nice evening.

The US is a nice place to visit with good looking bears but it is way too complicated.

The only problem with refunds is that you don't get any interest on the money while the government is sitting on it. Better you saved it yourself. Of course, that requires willpower which i don't have a whole lot of in these cases. ;-)

Considering what interest that banks pay-out vs service charges, the $25 doesn't reflect a large interest loss.

Love the photos. I'm surprise you didn't used The Beatles' "Taxman", that song was very honest. Glad you got your taxes done, with the photo & the way you describe it, sounds like a headache. Sometimes being a responsible tax paying citizen is a pain in the ass.

I feel your pain Woofer. I never had to pay taxes until I bought my condo. Go figure. It's supposed to work the other way around I thought. I got such a deal (steal) on my place that the interest isn't enough to offset my income which isn't be any means wealthy. Finally after paying a full year on a higher rate second mortgage I got mt owed taxes down to $54.
I'm refinancing now so hopeflly by next yea things will have evened out a bit more, but by then I'll probaly have another promotion and raise to tax the hell out of.
Double edge sword I tell ya.
