Recent Rumours

There are rumours recently deriving from a certain person's gossip column that is complete fiction. I'd like to start off by bringing a few facts to the table. Fact one; IT IS ENTIRELY FALSE! I don't go around kissing first years or hexing other students. What reason do I have to be kissing a first year? I already have someone I like!  And I barely ( Read more... )

You can't hide from the facts, Roland. What you did was absolutely horrid. I'm hiding in my common room until you're stopped.

You do know slander is actually a crime, don't you? You keep on accusing my brother of criminal acts (you do realise the seriousness of what you've accused him of?) and the aurors will get involved, and somehow I doubt you and your repulsive story will stand up for long in the face of them.

I suggest you keep your own nose out of it. I saw it, Wesley.

Liar. Because if you had you would have reported it to the authorities instead of producing a gossip rag with your name attached to it.

Your own life must be pretty pathetic for you to spend your time making up this sort of rubbish about other people.

Ron, there are things we can do about this. We'll go to a teacher. This is ridiculous.

I don't think they'll do much over one article...We could try though. Anything is better than getting dirty looks from the first years.

If they don't do anything about it, they're being blatantly irresponsible. Now, at this school, that's entirely possible, but we should try. This isn't a little thing, she said something thoroughly unacceptable, and she didn't say it as an insult, she alleged it as a fact. The two are different. Whatever else we do, we can almost certainly make it too much trouble for her to try again.

I think the best course of action would be to talk to a professor. Other than that...well, it's becoming clear that I might want to not worry about it. I have to be careful because I'm a prefect too. It's been suggested that I don't over react to the whole matter...

Don't worry Ron, nobody believes Rita Skeeter. She just writes things for the attention, it's really nothing to be worried about. Just ignore her and she'll go away.

Thanks, I'll try to keep that in mind. It's not so bad if she's the only one who believes it...

Actually, if we just ignore her, probably she'll find other things to say about other innocent people, which could be thoroughly hurtful.
