Happy New Year!  May 2009 be a good year for us all.

Sorry for the recent silence but I got sick at Christmas and have been largely off the wires.  Fortunately I was OK for the day itself which was spent in the company of friends and with a beautiful Christmas tree kindly decorated by friends:

You have a real fireplace~! With a real fire and real logs!

Yes, I'm sure you can tell that I've seen one too many fake digital fireplaces.

I'm sorry to hear that you have been sick, I hope you're feeling better now! The Christmas tree looks lovely- actually your house (and your tv!) looks lovely too.

That's a splendid tree, I'm sure your friends from abroad really enjoyed the traditional scene.

The tree is beautiful. Christmas lights always turn the night into a magical fairyland. I don't get the part about the snake and the raven, though. I must be missing something. *scratches head*

Got your e-mail, too! I'm happy you're feeling a little better.

Ah, there's just nothing like an open fire and a lit christmas tree!!! Magic.

Take care of yourself now, with temperature and all. Hope you recover soon.

Hello! Thanks for taking a look here. Putting the tree/fire photos here is a way of keeping the magic current after the real things are gone. Bit like your lovely sunsets.

By the way, the temperature is now down (and staying that way. Huh!) and I'm start to sleep more than cough at night, which is an improvement. I reckon I'll about be back up to strength just in time for work on Monday! Thanks for all your encouragement.
