Simmons College

I just got my acceptance letter from Simmons College today. I'm pretty excited, because it was my second choice :) But I have a few questions I was wondering if any of you could answer. I'm reading the entries that I found through the tags, but any help would be appreciated.

1. Can be found on the Simmons website. (Not to be snarky. I just had a friend who applied there, and we looked for the answer together, but I have no memory of what it is

Thanks! I'll look around some more and see if I can find the answer to my first question. I checked out the course guides, but it's got to be somewhere in the Academics section of their site. I didn't get to go on a tour (I was up there recently and unfortunately only got to tour Northeastern, where I ended up not getting in). Maybe I'll be able to make a trip up over the summer, and I'm sure there's someone I can talk to who can answer 3-5 for me. Luckily, I do know where the Fenway stop on the T is. I'm pretty well-acquainted with their subway system, as I've been there quite a few times. Thank you for the help :)

That said, I've not known any undergrads there, and I'm not sure how much on-campus life it has.

When I toured, it seemed like it was pretty active, and the students I spoke with confirmed that. The only knock they had was that it vacates on weekends, particularly because the majority of students come from eastern Massachusetts.

Their student spaces, however, seemed small to me, as though there isn't much congregating between groups. Since the dorms are so separate from the main campus buildings, I suspect there isn't much travelling back and forth and that students mostly hang around in the dorms.

Is there are Smith 2012 group on Facebook? Usually there are current students who go on the group and answer questions. BTW, what is your first choice?

My Facebook account got frozen because I couldn't prove that I go to a cyber school/am homeschooled. Dumbasses :( haha. My first choice was Northeastern, but I ended up not getting in there. The more I think about it though, the more I think I may be happier at Simmons.

That's so funny, I applied to Northeastern in 2004 and didn't get in but got into Simmons. I didn't end up going. I ended up at Eugene Lang College.

From what I hear, a LOT of people who don't get in at Northeastern end up at better schools. I've also heard that schools have been relying more and more on if you're a legacy/how much money your family has, because so many people are applying to colleges nowadays. It sucks, but it might be for the best. How do you like Eugene Lang?

Do you know if Simmons has a club hockey team?

I don't think they do :( I was really interested in ice hockey, but when I looked, I didn't see anything.

Silly me, I knew you said you were a nursing major in your post. What made you choose Simmons?

1) Yes, you will be in the nursing program taking intro classes required for the program. In fact, I remember my friends first year not being able to take certain req. classes due to nursing reqs coming first

Thank you so much :) That definitely helps. If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to ask. I did luck out and the first summer orientation is filled up, but the next one is on a weekend so I'm trying to RSVP for that one.
