Simmons College

I just got my acceptance letter from Simmons College today. I'm pretty excited, because it was my second choice :) But I have a few questions I was wondering if any of you could answer. I'm reading the entries that I found through the tags, but any help would be appreciated.

Is there are Smith 2012 group on Facebook? Usually there are current students who go on the group and answer questions. BTW, what is your first choice?

My Facebook account got frozen because I couldn't prove that I go to a cyber school/am homeschooled. Dumbasses :( haha. My first choice was Northeastern, but I ended up not getting in there. The more I think about it though, the more I think I may be happier at Simmons.

That's so funny, I applied to Northeastern in 2004 and didn't get in but got into Simmons. I didn't end up going. I ended up at Eugene Lang College.

From what I hear, a LOT of people who don't get in at Northeastern end up at better schools. I've also heard that schools have been relying more and more on if you're a legacy/how much money your family has, because so many people are applying to colleges nowadays. It sucks, but it might be for the best. How do you like Eugene Lang?

Yeah, in retrospect I think I romanticized Boston. I didn't even know much about Northeastern.

Lang is an interesting school. The New School is what you make it. If you want it to be hard, it is. If you want an easy 4 years, you can have it. I like it but it's been a long time to actually like it. It's one of those things I've grown to like. If you have any specific questions, I can maybe help you out with them.

You can still get a general account. They're not school-based anymore. :)

That's what I thought. Then I e-mailed them about reenabling my account, and they're all, "No we can't. Facebook is a site based on schools and people being able to verify that they know each other."
Oh, okay. So you're just going to put schools in the network where students don't actually see each other/their teachers and then, when they can't verify that they go there, disable their account? *grumbles*

You can't reopen the old one, but you can open a new one with a separate e-mail address. ;)
