parade
well, we went to the parade. it rained. then it poured. then it HAILED. in socal. not near the mountains. fortunately, the school was smart enough to buy rain ponchos for all of the kids. the girls were all in wigs and school dresses and between the two, i think each child had about $400 worth of costume on them. my kids had fun riding on ( Read more... ) -

Banned from school dance for wearing kilt?
I guess this is a bit old, but i figured i'd post it anyway. In a nutshell, a high school senior showed up at a school dance wearing a kilt to honor his Scottish heritage. when he arrived, the principal stated that it was his dance and he would not allow his students to run around looking like clowns. he insisted the student change into ( Read more... ) -

for some reason, i've had a buildup of karma or something that just decided to pay up. i sent ry down to do laundry and he came running back yelling that there was a computer in the laundy room, and "can i have it?!?" thinking it would be a total piece of shite and wondering what on earth he was thinking, i get down there and an imac is sitting ( Read more... ) -
a date with my son
today, i took ry to go see hp goblet of fire. skwish was kind enough to take stitch for the afternoon(and what turned out to be a good portion of the evening) we had decided that going to the 1435 showing was prolly the best bet and i bough tickets last night. by the time they finished the endless trailers for other movies and got through the ( Read more... ) -
