Banned from school dance for wearing kilt?

I guess this is a bit old, but i figured i'd post it anyway. In a nutshell, a high school senior showed up at a school dance wearing a kilt to honor his Scottish heritage. when he arrived, the principal stated that it was his dance and he would not allow his students to run around looking like clowns. he insisted the student change into something else, and when the student refused, would not allow him to attend the dance. here's the link to the original article:

I am not of Scottish descent, but this is beyond ridiculous. in addition, please note the name of the moron masquerading as a principal. chances are, he's of that descent and should REALLY know better. for anyone interested, i am including the link for the petition. when you get to the page for signatures, it states that only Clan Gunn members can sign, but on the first page, they stated that they are inviting anyone interested to sign. here's that link:
