Hey, wolfling's here! Glad to see you, and thanks so much for the card! I wanted to send you an Amsterdam card, but I either never had your address or, more likely, wrote it down on the back of a stray piece of paper and lost it.
No news from here, I've had a rotten year so far and am contemplating a move...Antarctica? Don't they need people to live underground and brood? Cheers! p
I could not believe how good ADS was. It really felt like reading a Bujold novel.
The thought of Miles/Gregor as a pairing had never even crossed my mind before I read this; and they completely sold me on it to the point that I go back and reread the books and start seeing subtext I missed in previous readings.
Yes, knowing there's 250 pages worth of sequel sitting on a hard drive somewhere makes me all wriggly. And a bit impatient; want more now! It's been a while since I came upon a fanfic that so consumed me this way. :)
I know! I never thought of Bujold slash of any stripe, and certainly not Miles/Gregor. I also started re-reading the series after I finished ADS, and now I'm so into the idea that I'm having trouble not seeing subtext.
I've had a few Bujold slash thoughts before -- there's Aral being canonicaly bi of course and Byerly I just want to set up with a nice Vor lord somewhere. Like Ivan.(There was a really lovely Ivan/By fic in this year's Yuletide for one.)
But I never had contemplated really Miles slash before. Of course now I can't stop contemplating it, but that's not a bad thing at all. :)
Unfortunately, I have cheated on my Jack/Daniel OTP. *sigh* I haven't actually written Cameron/Daniel slash yet, but I have a very active imagination. :)
The thought of Cameron/Daniel (and I even started typing Jac- and had to backspace; even my backbrain is very much a Jack/Daniel girl) slash is certainly very pretty and not the least bit repelling. But so far my brain hasn't gone there when I've been watching.
Of course this could be because my brain is too busy imagining Jack and Daniel shacking up off camera...
But I love Cameron and especially how he and Daniel interact, there's much to squee about there, slash or no slash. :)
(and I love that I have a couple of John Crichton icons that can do double duty for me when I talk about SG-1 now... ) ;)

Hopefully this year will get better for everyone; it seems many people are having a rocky start.
