Right now Ryan will go through a little bit of hell first with the guy he met after the breakup. And (poor Ryan) his trust will break even more.
Warning:smut, good old fashioned smut. It is a m/m fic, so you have been warned.
A/N: Don't own, just borrowing. Am making no money so don't sue. This is my first fic so please tell me if I am doing anything wrong, but no flames please. Is AU. I can't read every story out there no matter how hard I try, so if this is like something you've read before, please let me know. I do not want to infringe on anyone's territory. Or not give credit were it's due. I am using all the knowledge I have on the subject of police work. Not much. So if some one could tell me if i'm doing something wrong, I'd be grateful.

"Answer me." Ryan growled.

"I heard about Eric." The smile Jesse had shown to Jay disappeared when he turned to Ryan. "Were you going to tell me?" He asked, voice turning as cold as his eyes.

"You already know. So what would be the point in telling you now." Ryan shrugged off the look. "He should be here soon if you want to meet him. He's heard all about you." Ryan smiled.

"You-"

"Daddy." Jay interrupted. "Is that him?" He pointed through the open door.

"I don't think I've seen anyone run that fast in a long time." Eric said as he walked over to Ryan. "What was he doing here?"

"He said he heard about us. But I didn't tell anyone. I probably should have, but I didn't." Ryan shook his head at the oncoming confusion.

"I only told my dad. And we haven't filed yet, so there's no public record. Maybe-"

"It doesn't matter." Ryan took Eric's hand and nodded his head toward Jay. "He needs to approve you." Ryan whispered. "It's not a joke." He added when when Eric laughed.

"What-" Was all Eric got out before he was put in front of the five year old. "Hi."

"If you hurt him, people will kill you. Dinner's done." Smiling, Jay ran into the kitchen.

"I didn't know he would say that." Ryan managed.

"Your child is scary." Eric said, adding, "He's kind of like you."

"Thanks. What?"

"Let's eat." Eric got up and pulled Ryan with him.

"Like I said before, he's a scary kid, good, but scary." Eric said when Ryan came back into the room.

Eric shifted and Ryan sat next to him.

"What do we tell people? We were both with other people until, well yesterday for you. It's been three weeks for me. They'll think we-" Ryan couldn't even finish the thought.

"We'll just tell them the truth. It was sudden, whirlwind even. We fell for each other and decided to do something about it." Eric smiled and pulled Ryan closer.

"They won't believe it. They'll think we had an affair. And if I am pregnant, that will be the reason we're together. And in a way, they'd be right. If-"

"You wouldn't have told me anything if you thought differently. If there wasn't a definite possibility. That's something anyone can tell when they first meet you. You don't act unless you're sure. So stop using if."

"When I'm sure."

"And that would be?"

"A month and a half, maybe two. I'm scared." Ryan whispered, burrowing into Eric's neck.

"There's nothing to be scared of." He said, kissing Ryan's forehead.

"What people think can make or break you. You know that."

"You know what?" Eric asked, picking Ryan up. "Right now I just don't give a shit about what people think. I want you and I'm going to have you. Simple as that." He said, moving down the hall to the bedroom.

"Do you want me?" Eric asked, laying Ryan on the bed.

"Yes."

"Do you want a future together?" He asked, laying on Ryan.

"Yes"

"Does it really matter what people think?" He kissed Ryan.

"Not right now."

"Good." Eric, kissing him thoroughly, started removing their clothes.

"Where'd you get this?" Eric asked, running his hand over the scar just below Ryan's belly button.

Ryan stilled at the question.

"About four years ago...Um. Me and a friend fell into bed. I got pregnant and we figured since we'd been friends for a long time and that we did love each other in a way, we could make it work. Around my eighth month, Lee and I were sent to a scene, they needed help. The bullet went through the zipper of the vest and into her. Angel, we named her Angel. We tried to make it work after that, somewhere along the way realized that we were better friends than anything else. But we're both stubborn and didn't want to admit it. He cheated and I walked in on it. Now we only speak to each other when we have too." Ryan turned to look at Eric. "I never blamed him for cheating, I just blamed him for not telling me."

"I'm sor-"

"It's not your fault." Ryan cut him off. "Don't be sorry."

"That's why your scared." It was a statement more than a question. "Baby, that had to be a one in a million shot." He pulled Ryan to him.

"It's been four years, I'm pretty sure there have been a million shots by now. How do you know it won't happen again?"

"One, unless there's something you're not telling me, you haven't been shot at a million times. And two, the vests are designed differently now. I've seen them. No one could get a shot like that again. It would be inhuman. There is nothing to worry about." Eric kissed his temple.

"Jesse."

"Let's stop talking about crazy people for now. I think that's a good plan."

"What if-"

"No more what ifs. It's time to sleep." Eric pulled Ryan to him again.

She watched as they curled together in the bed. Her anger rising at the fact that Jesse hadn't done what he should have. And that Hank couldn't shame Eric into leaving Ryan. 'They're useless. I'll have to do this myself.' She thought. She moved her hand when she realized that it had settled on her gun. She smiled as a plan started forming in her mind. 'I'll give your fear of guns a run for it's money. You'll know true fear when I'm done with you.' She laughed silently.
