World of No Craft

It seems like the World of Warcraft servers in the US are always so busy that the extra busy places on them kick me off the server. I can't enter Stormwind after a certain time of day ( Read more... )

I play on Ysera realm. Since the WotLK xpac I've noticed a little queue action at the usual high-volume times but that's just when I'm connecting. Once I'm on, I don't get kicked out unless the whole server crashes or my own computer crashes.

Ysera is an Eastern US timezone realm. You might try to see what your experiences are on another time zone at a little less drastic difference from you than Oceania.

I only really experience serious lag if I'm playing on my laptop and I go to Dalaran. I used to have that problem when I went to Shattrath but not since the xpac. I think that it's probably just from the sheer number of people in the zone. All the people who used to hang around Shattrath are now doing it in Dalaran. I've only experienced serious lag in Azeroth zones while doing 40-man PvP raids on major cities but even then I didn't get disconnected, my FPS was just so slow that it was almost unplayable.

I'll try Ysera. Just in case, who do I look for? Horde or Alliance? :)

The primary problem I tend to have is I rarely see the same people more than once. When I actually get to see the same people a lot, I do everything I can to be helpful, but it never seems to last.

It's discouraging to be invited to be a guild member and then never see anyone from my new guild ever again. :(

I'll look for Elaestra on the Horde side. :)

If someone named Bloodhart hails you, that's me. I'm level 6, but I know how to climb levels, although not so much on the Horde side. This will be interesting...

I found Ysera just about as busy as Shadowmoon, although I haven't tried to take an Alliance-side character into Stormwind at 9pm for the ultimate test, yet.

Sometimes when you're in a mood for experimentation, try making a character on Saurfang, just for comparison's sake. There's a world of difference. :)

I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm a bit busy until Sunday so I most likely won't be on until then ( ... )

I admit, life has been preventing me from playing much at all the last 6-8 months. I did notice however that they ahve been doing a LOT of free character moves from high pop servers to very low pop servers.

Log into account management on their website and check it out. you may be able to transfer someplace better without spending any money.

So far the character transfers have all been from either one specific server to two or three other specific servers, or for one particular type of server (not mine) to any of a specified list of other servers.

They're attempting to even out the population. There haven't been any character transfers from Shadowsong since the time where you transferred yours.

In my wildest dreams, I keep thinking of a server whose population is capped so low that there is never lag, or a "friends-only" server. Unfortunately, I don't think servers work that way. :(
