003 - Hope! [Action]

[Hope is inbetween his morning and afternoon classes. He's got his books in his bag, with a crisp new pad of paper with incredibly neat handwriting just visible where the cover has not fallen over the lined paper in a straight line. Hope is looking up at the sky with his eyes closed

[Oh hey, it's that kid Maria has a ton of classes with. She shrugs the books she's carrying to one arm so she can offer a smile and a wave as she joins him in the hall to the cafeteria.]

[She's only carrying those books because her backpack is full of more books. Which is kind of alarming considering she has three physical classes on MWF...]

[Hope smiles at the girl. He had noticed her in his classes, but hadn't quite gotten to the name stage yet.]

Hey.

[He offers a wave back looking at all of her books and shaking his head very slightly. This girl was trying to steal the library or something.]

How're you?

Impatient.

[She says that like it's the worst thing in the world, with a scowl.]

Weapons training is driving me nuts! And I just came from PMGF and I just. Can't. Wait to actually get to the Junctioning parts.

[Hope can't help but feel the TINIEST bit smug that he has weapons experience and magic experience in spades.]

Hey, they explained the whole patience thing. I mean... it sucks I know. Especially when you can already do most of the magic they're talking about. But hey. It's interesting to learn about the way you guys do it. Weapons training... well. I guess it's nice to have formal training for me.

[Hope looks at her with a soft smile.]

[ Lunch time, lunch time, oh yeah! Vanille's favorite part of the day, except for maybe when classes are over and she's done with her homework. But not much compares to that break in the middle of classes that usually means the hard ones are over, and the next few aren't so bad. Unlike Hope, Vanille definitely wasn't glad to be back in school, even if some of the classes she was taking were more fun than anything. The learning part, though... Reading and doing homework... That was boring. ]

[ But taking a break and eating? Now that was something she could get behind! ]

[ Speaking of being behind things... She's skipping her way to the cafeteria, when who does she see in front of her? ]

[ Why, Hope, of course. ]

[ Someone she has no qualms running up behind and throwing her arms around. ]

[It happens....

It always happens when you're least expecting it. Sure, you can be munching a sandwich in the cafeteria, looking over your notes quite happily... then it happens.

You're grabbed from behind by a mysterious force, and it scares little boys out of their skins and they let out semi-terrified yells, only to turn and discover it's one of their friends. Then they look embarrasedly up at them, before swallowing their bite and muttering...]

Hi Vanille. You made me jump...

[brightsiding]

[ Vanille just giggles, feeling a little bad that she'd startled him so much. The other people in the cafeteria had turned to look at them, just as startled by Hope's yelping, but turned back to their food just as quickly. She keeps herself partially draped on him for a moment to deliver a hug before leaning to the side to look him in the face. ]

Sorry about that! Didn't mean to scare you! [ With that, she slides her arms from around him and skips to the other side of the table, pulling out a chair and sitting down. ]

Having a good lunch?

It's okay. I shouldn't be so distracted.

[He shakes his head and smiles at her as she sits down.]

Yeah. The sandwiches here are good. What're you going to have?

[Man, being in the same school as Vanille too. There were just things he was going to like about this place.]

[Zak is a few chairs down, studying over lunch. It's probably not a class book, unless it was something mentioned as recommended reading on a syllabus someplace. Either way, he's devouring it as precisely as he's devouring his sandwich.]

[Hope notices the other guy from his Politics class. He looks over his notes one more time and closes the pad, shuffling the contents of his bag so it won't get creased as he's putting it away and walks over to the table.]

What're you reading?

[Hope looked down at the other guy. Before everything happened, he wouldn't have gone over to say hi. But hey, he made the choice to say hello, and he's going to stand by it. No regrets.]

[Zak swallows first. No spraying sandwich across the book. Gross! Oh yeah, this kid. Sorta familiar.]

You sound like my Tactical Strategy instructor. But I'll admit, if we didn't have Lightning's knowledge of PsiCom I wouldn't be sitting here now.

[He offers a smile to him and sits down, taking a bottle of cola from his bag and taking a sip.]

Galbaldia is one of the neighbouring states right?

[Danny is trying to find his way to the cafeteria for lunch, staring intently at a map of the school in his hands while he navigates himself. He really should be watching where he's going, though, because he stumbles into a few people. He offers brief apologies, but before he knows it, he's stumbling into folks again, this time headed for one (1) Hope Estheim.]

[La la la- Oof! Hope stumbles forward a step then turns round.]

[... Kid with map. That immediately means he's trying to find somewhere. Well. I should help.]

Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Um, sorry about that. It's kinda my first day here, so. [He trails off, figuring that the rest of his thoughts are just implied by that half-statement.]

[Hope gives him a smile.]

Hey, it was an accident. Where are you looking to be? I've been here a little while now. Maybe I could help?

Well, Cocona isn't sure she caught his name, but she's pretty sure she has a class with him, so she'll just catch up to him... might as well do some introductions now.]

Hey there! You're... don't we have a class together?

[Hope turned and nodded as she spoke. Her hair colour was definitely the give away.]

Rock Climbing right? Last period Tuesday/Thursday? I'm Hope.
