I'm now at the point where when I'm riding public transportation to places I regularly visit, I basically go on autopilot until my stop comes up. Today the Gospel Hula group and church choir went around caroling to different nursing homes. At one of the nursing home after I was walking to the back of the room when the Gospel Hula group had finished performing, one of the ladies in the front of the audience said in a very loud voice, "The foreigner is very beautiful." My mother and I were talking about movies for some reason when we were Skyping today, and I brought up "Twilight". My mother had no idea what it was about, so I had the pleasure of informing her of the general gist of it. She burst out laughing when I got to the sparkling vampires part. It was highly entertaining.

I like doing fun things for my students, especially my children students. It always makes me happy to see them excited over something I did for or gave them. I was able to do this today for some of my students. The boys in my Thursday afternoon children classes are all huge fans of the Dragonball manga. At the end of my fourth grade class today, I was attempting to usher the students out as I prepared for my next class. Suddenly, one of the girls came right up to me, shoved her face into my chest, then proceeded to announce that I smelled good. While I stood there in shock, she did it again. It was quite bizarre...

Today was the memory verse test for the first through third graders. They say the memory verse that we've been practicing all month, and then I give them a sticker (no matter if I have to basically make the student repeat after me one word at a time or if the student can say it perfectly without my help). While I had fun with the others at the retreat, I'm now exhausted and sick and have lost all motivation for finishing my NaNoWriMo novel even though I'm only 4,000 words from being done with it.
