Deadlines

I am under a work deadline. It is big and hairy and finishing it feels sort of like fighting Grendel and his mother. There you are, all exhausted and panting in the mead hall, and whoops, time to go again. It is eating my brain. My brain should learn that mead halls are not safe

I'm sure you will hit your deadline and your surgery will go swimmingly! I'm envious - I'd love to have a reduction myself, but I haven't yet done the legwork to determine if I can get it covered by my insurance and if being overweight is an issue.

My insurance said that as long as my BMI was under 37, I was ok, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Ahh, good to know! I've a doctor's appointment in another week - I'll ask him about the procedure and assessments for insurance, etc.

I'm scared of anesthesia too. That's part of why I fought so hard for the misoprostol instead of the D&C. They almost didn't believe me in the hospital this time when they took my medical history. "You've NEVER had anesthesia?"

You are big and strong and you are making a body modification you want. You will be very happy that you have done this, when it is complete.

Be sure to mention your past experiences with anesthesia to your anesthesiologist. Yes, it is a dark art, but if you tell the person how you felt then, they can probably translate that into, "Fentanyl makes her nauseous for a week," and adjust your mix. That's why they get paid the way they do.
