My iPod died (sort of). :( And I blame the new version of iTunes, because ever since I downloaded it,
Meep! That's horrible. But the new version of iTunes is evil. It keeps having all these strange hick-ups. For me it tends to snag and jump tracks if I load a webpage.
And no, you are not the only one who has strong attachment to their iPod. I understand your distress perfectly. My iPod is one of those things I cannot understand how I lived without.
I'm so not thrilled with the new version of iTunes! There are things that I used to be able to do with it that I have to relearn and I'm not adapting well to the change...I suppose I should be glad that at least it did tell me that it was corrupted, but still, I blame it for the corruption! (I've noticed other problems, like iTunes freezes for no particular reason sometimes). I had no problems like this with my 5G iPod in the six months since I bought it, and neither with its 3G predecessor. So it's beyond annoying to have to deal with this now...It will take me a while to restore everything, and I lost all my iPod specific playlists, which is going to be hard to reproduce.
Koki was so funny in this episode, but I really do wonder why he's so over-the-top cartoony in what looks like the comic sidekick role. I wonder if he's been asked to play it like this or if it's his own invention?
In the drama preview special, Koki said he was always looking for places to improvise and add a funny twist. Personally, I think it's half the director/writer asking that of him and then the other half is Koki - particularly in the little moments, like his reactions to things and such. His performance is great, but I can't help but being frustrated that he is being reduced to such a one-note character. I just hope there doesn't come a point where I start not liking Kou because of the way Koki is playing him. :(
And I totally agree on the awesomeness of the Ren/Hiroto scene. Absolutely beauty. :D
Thanks for filling me in on Koki's ideas for the character. He's going too far in some places! I sort of hated how he ran away for beer, which was like a slapstick idiot. He's great in some places and too much in others. There has to be a balance. And I'd like to know more about him than just a cartoony buffoon.

Yes! Me, too.
I'm still in awe of that Ren/Hiroto scene. I think I've rewatched it at least five or six times. Kame looks so good with that kid. There's something really beautiful and sensual about it (not sexual, though, I must hasten to add).
I feel your pain! I don't have an i-pod, but I always feel so very irritated when the little things/gadgets which are supposed to save us some time and make our life better make us spend LARGE amounts of time on fixing them. Like my computer - I can't live without it, so when it goes wonky and I have spend hours and hours fixing it I get VERY annoyed. I am so not ready to live without my fast-speed Internet. :)
Oh no @ the ipod news! I am so with you when it comes to the importance of the daily soundtrack. I couldn't live without my mp3 player either, or rather, life would be so very bland without it. Good that you could restore at least SOME things and that it didn't die on you completely

I also think that both Hiroto and Nao won't survive.
See, I keep see-sawing on this for both of the reasons you point out. When I listen to the voiceover, especially in the very beginning of the first episode, it sounds like an older person looking back on a first love. But from the conversation with Ren and from that final image of Hiroto and Nao in white with closed eyes...these seem to indicate death. I'm leaning toward death for both, though, after the convo with Ren.
Re: Ren in wheelchair: I agree with you and ina - I wonder if there's more to it than just the asthma - maybe that's all that Ayuto knows? Maybe there's a problem with his heart, too? I don't know. I have asthma (although not as serious as Ren's) and I know others who do have serious asthma and it's not enough for a wheelchair, especially since pushing that wheelchair around will do you in if the asthma is that severe...Since his legs were completely inert in the bedroom scene, I think there must be more to it

Yep, I agree with you pretty much on Tatta Hitotsu no Koi - It's like a long cool drink, and so easy on the eyes. Anything that makes me squeee like I did yesterday, no matter how old-fashioned (what's wrong with that anyway?), manipulative or predictable, is going to get a gold star in my book. *shrug* I love the characters. I wouldn't be capping hundreds of frames if I didn't love Hiroto like I do!

I'm not prepared for live without highspeed internet or my laptop either. It's amazing how much we come to depend on these things...
