THIS. SO GREAT. I loved it before, but when you mentioned BC&tSK, I squealed like a little girl, oh man. <\3 I love that movie and this and Winn and fhdsjkfdks. Such a perfect mix of smut and adorable and characterization and gahhhhhhhhhh. I can't even sentence right now. ♥

Thank you and so happy you enjoyed it.

I adore Butch and Sundance and truly can not wrap my mind around anyone who doesn't see how so absolutely and completely old married couple the two of them are.

Their love is very difficult to deny, indeed. We watched it in my government class at the end of the year, and even the guys in the class were like (and I quote) "they want each other so bad." Best moment of my life? Very possible.

I remember watching some special anniversary edition showing of it and at the bottom of the screen it had all kinds of trivia and quotes and inside knowledge of the making of the film.

There was something in there about how during the shootout scene at the end, Paul Newman went off script and tied the bandage around Robert Redford's arm because he wanted it to reflect the trust and intimacy of their relationship.

I was sitting there all 'PAUL NEWMAN IS A SLASH FAN!!'

And then there was the quote from Redford about the movie being a lovestory and the one from Joanne Woodward about how she secretly worried Redford and Newman were going to run off together and by that point I was dying.

It's such an amazing feeling when you get it straight from the source that no, it totally isn't your delusianal pervy brain seeing everything through queer colored glasses and that this totally is as homoerotic as you thought.

SWEET VINDICATION!

If I could work out some kind of emote for me with hearts in my eyes, a big stupid smile on my face, melting into a puddle of goo, I'd write that and that'd be my comment.

I'd say it's some combination of *_*, 8D, <3 and \o/.

Film nerdiness leading to awkward first time sex and saying I love you, what more could I ask for?

Thanks.

And in my world, film nerdiness always should lead to sexy times. Movie geekery is one of my ultimate turn ons. Or music geekery.

Hell, I just find it hot when someone is really passionate about something and wants to share that passion with others.

God -- I've been so focused on writing my own Kurt/Puck story that I've sort of fallen away from checking in on my other fiction communities, so I haven't checked Winnners for a while and now I see that you've written a whole new series!

You're seriously one of my favorite Will/Finn authors, I'd just like to register.

You always have their voices down, and just the right amount of angst mixed with the just the right amount of fluff and real emotion and *hot* sex scenes. But this series just made me squeal in fanboy joy, because I actually recognize almost all of the music and movies in Will's collection and this installment in particular was a wonderful, lovely blast to the cinema past (and *thank you* for also pointing out the blatant tension in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"; I thought I was so alone, LOL). I can't wait for the next chapter/update from you!

Now, of course, I'm off to catch up on everything else I've missed on this community, damn it all. XD

You mean everyone else wasn't aware of how totally married Butch and Sundance are? What movie are they watching? Seriously, even Redford and Newman knew it!

I'm so glad this hit your fanboy buttons as I worry sometimes that this is just occasionally in danger of devolving into a bit of shameless author indulgence with me geeking out about various stuff I find cool.

So happy that you like the series and that the characters rang true.

And I just wrote another installment.

I've never actually seen any of those movies. The Maltese Falcon mention made me laugh because my half-brother is half-Maltese and calls himself that all the time. It's both mortifying and hilarious when he does it...

Still, I loved the fic so much, the development of the relationship was immense and the ending was so hot and so sweet! :)

Thanks.

Glad you liked and that the fic still worked even when you weren't familiar with the movies.

Which you should totally see by the way!

I am always completely flabbergasted by people who don't notice that Butch and Sundance are so totally married.

I'm glad you liked the 'Will teaching Finn about life' aspect of their relationship as I consider it one of the really sort of beautiful things about them as a pairing. Not to be creepy or anything, but I can't imagine Will would ever be able to not be sort of a teacher when it comes to Finn, given their differences in age and expererience. But it balances because Finn is just as much teaching Will about letting go and not overthinking everything so much.

It's all very songs of innocence, songs of experience.
