I 1)Never cut notches and 2) Never pin. I are a bad girl. *shifty eyes* But I haz SKEYEWS, I canna haz pins in mah houwse becos my cats omnoms them and has to has exploring sergeries. Is good skeyews. *nodnod*

I just use cans of peas or whatever to hold the fabric down. *shrug*

I just bought a rotary cutter and mat and IT IS SO WORTH IT. It saves your wrist from repetitive motion ( I have carpal tunnel and tendonitis) and it is so much faster. The mats are expensive but they self-heal and last a long time from what I've heard. I only have the tiny mat that comes with my cutter, but we have a big one at school that's been there about a trillion years or so.

ETA: I've been clearing out my sewing room for like the last 3 hours, and I found this really cool kit of simple (but really cute and also useful) home projects that I forgot I had and haven't ever used and don't need - I'd be happy to donate it to a no0bie. :) If you want it, pm me your mailing address.

LOL I don't feel so bad then. If a sewing guru like yourself can get by without it, then- Actually that's probably horrible logic. Oh well. I have such a hard time with the notch thing that I am thinking I am going to do like I did this time and use my majick marker of disappearing ink to just draw the notches on. We'll see if it works. *feels like a dangerous rebel*

LOL I didn't even think of the cats. Oh stars. It's a good thing the klepto!kitteh is restricted to my brother's room or she'd be so dead by now. She LOVES shiny things. We have to move the fridge and retrieve the contents of my mother's jewelry box once a month or so when she manages to escape. (I'm not actually sure how she's not already dead, tbh. Elastic hairbands are one of her favorite snacks. *facepalm*)

I am thinking I will try this canned food method. *hates the pins with a fiery burning passion* Or these clips they have at the fabric store all the ladies there swear by. Literally in that one adorable grandma's case. LOL I nearly shat myself laughing when I ( ... )
