Last night we completed Phase One of a major book reorganization project.  On Saturday, we went through all our books and filled twelve (12!) grocery bags, which we took to the book thing.  Then we started organizing what was left by subject.

Granted I'm only 200 pages into an 800-page book, but WTF does she see in Vronsky?  He is such an obvious asshole -- in fact, we know she knows he's an asshole, because she witnessed his treatment of Kitty.  How could she let this dickhead get her pregnant?   And now he is way, way more upset about his horse than ( Read more... )

How annoying.  And here I was thinking Ender's Game was required reading.  I'm glad I didn't give in to my impulse to buy it the last time I saw it in a bookstore.

I might still get it from the library, except now I don't want to like it because he's such a dickhead.

Moll Flanders, by Daniel Defoe, is one of those classics of English  literature I never got around to reading -- until now.  I attempted both Robinson Crusoe and A Journal of the Plague Year when I was in high school, but didn't make it through either one. Laurell Hamilton is one of those authors you're ashamed to admit you read -- and rightly so.  I wouldn't be admitting it now if I hadn't promised myself I'd blog every new book I read.
