I've read about another 150 pages since my last post. Anna fessed up to Karenin. He's insisting they stay together, figuring it will cause less scandal for him and more torture for her. What a guy. Anna went to see Vronsky about it and he was about as helpful as I would have expected. We then have a long digression about Levin's farm to keep us in suspense. Dolly wants him to try again with Kitty, but his pride (and shyness, and fear of humiliation) won't allow it, so he's distracting himself by writing a treatise on Russian agriculture. Now I understand how Tolstoy stretched out a simple story about adultery to 800 pages.
I honestly don't know what's going to happen to Anna next. I mean, I know what happens to her in the end, because everyone knows what happens to her in the end, but I have no idea how she's going to get there.
