I think I've hit my limit with life in retail. If anyone wants to give me a change of career for my birthday next month, it'd be appreciated.

It took four months but it finally happened: I answered a Hastings call with the Game X Change greeting. Still, given that I used the old one for a solid eighteen months before the job change, it's pretty good that I went this long without slipping.

It's kind of amusing how many people around town still recognize me as "the Game X Change guy," even though our local store's been closed for four months now.

I think I may have a career change lining up for the near future.

So, in talking with one of my co-workers, it sounds like there might be a problem in getting hired on at Blockbuster while I'm working at Hastings. Namely, they might see it as a "conflict of interest," since I could theoretically compare prices or whatever. Hastings is turning out to be a bit of a bust in a way. I mean, the job itself is fine, but I'm not receiving the hours or payrate offered. So, I'm looking for a second job. I've just finished putting in an application at my local Blockbuster - which is right across the street from Hastings - and I'm hoping that'll go well.

It's amazing how a part time job can feel more tiring than a full time job just because the store uses tile instead of carpet at the registers.

I could rant about my night at work. I could ... but that's not what I want to do. I've already hashed it out with some friends. Instead, I'm just going to say that it's probably not good that after one week I feel like ranting in my journal. So, I had my first day at Hastings. I don't really have anything of note to say about it, but I did find something eye-catching while I was wandering around. I found an actual physical Evergreen Terrace CD. That was kind of mind-blowing. So, it turns out that the weather finally decided to turn icy right at the end of my run with Game X Change. As a result, Sunday will have been my last day to work there. It was too icy to make such a long trip today, and I don't think the situation will change tomorrow either.

Oh well.
