I suppose if something is right in front of you, it's rather hard to be dismissive of it. And I can't imagine this is some sort of--some sort of, I don't know... large scale illusion or something.

More or less what I was thinking, yes. It seems too much effort for just an illusion. Which means it's... real.

I didn't really think so but--but I wasn't sure at all what they really were. I've never seen anything even remotely like them before.

Machines are constructed from metals and run on a power source. In the case of the machine fish, they were made to look like something from nature.
