update from hell

Apr 28, 2006 11:22

Hey! So, parts of this were written a while back. I've written a comment on it here and there in [square brackets]. I'd also like to point out that if you read all of this word-for-word, I won't just be impressed, I'll be scared. Because in that case you MUST be stalking me. Begin LONG UPDATE ( Read more... )

Wow, this is one heck of an update! I'm impressed.

4/20 was my birthday, so you watched "Inside Man" at the Drafthouse, then came back to my place for cookie cake!

You're stalking me! Aaaaahh! *runs away screaming* ... *comes back* Actually, that's not so bad. You're nice enough ;-P

-Hehe cooking is fun!
-No, not written ahead of time. I reconstruct using things like posts to forums (for WoW stuff) and Gmail history (for going over to other people's places, Magic, game night, etc.). It usually works to about 80% effectiveness, I'd say.
-Isn't there always? ;)

OK. I confess I didn't read it . . . but I admired the formatting as I skimmed thru.

Hah! I got thru it too. Mostly because I read it in shifts and had too short of attention span to stay in my work for long.

Only two comments I can still remember now are:
1)Did you purposefully pick the name Ravel? 'Cause it's the name of a classical music composer as well...I've been meaning to ask you for a while.

2)Dude, if you wanna play Smash sometime, just let us know. We can do a small group thing so that we don't need handicaps. We do tend to take it less seriously and are way out of practice, but we can help you get yoru fix when you need it.

1) I did purposely pick it, but not because of the composer. Though, being a stout old grey-haired dwarf, I can imagine him being some sort of composer :) No, I was just comimg up with names and wanted something vaguely related to the creation of magic, since he was going to be a shadow priest. Whereas you might "unravel" a magical weave, he was going to be doing the opposite. Thus, "Ravel"!

2) I'm probably pretty out of practice at this point too, but it's like riding a bike :D And I could always use chars that aren't my "mains", which would make it about even. Care to play some tonight? ;)

Yeah, to a certain extent it is. Shielding and dodging are always things that I really fall out of practice with. The rest I remember pretty quickly.

I would like some company tonite - I haven't seen people since last weekend. I could probably be talked into some smash too.

Well, we were going to kabobulate them on a grill, but it was a charcoal grill and we had no charcoal. In Jason's defense, it looked an awful lot like a gas grill, so the confusion was understandable. But then we tried to do them in the oven instead... except the oven wasn't on. It had been cooking the brisket all day, so it was holding its temperature at 100-some pretty effectively, but that didn't cook the kabobs.

The main disconnect, though, is that if we couldn't grill them, we should have been broiling them, since that's the closest thing to grill conditions. But I wasn't up there helping, I was down by the pool trying to police people into not having beer bottles out. We had an "incident", but luckily it was far enough away from the pool itself that I wasn't concerned about glass actually in the pool. They were all heads-in-the-clouds about it, like it's just a rule. No, it's not just a rule. Glass in pool = REALLY BAD. You have to completely drain the pool in order to fix the problem. It can completely mess up some ( ... )

I knew that it was a charcoal grill, I had checked beforehand, but when I checked there was lots of charcoal available so it wouldn't be a problem. Little did I know that there would be a group of bitchasses hogging the charcoal and being rude when we tried to get some, which is what led to us not having enough.

Yeah, that beer thing was annoying. I wasn't planning to have beer at all for exactly that reason, but then they complained that there wasn't "enough" beer, there was only what they brought. I should have been more explicit in the evite I suppose, but really, who would expect to have bottles of beer at a pool party? I did explicitly say that we'd be by the pool.

Stupid charcoal-hogging bitchasses! I'd come and slap them for you, but... um... they're probably long gone by now.

Oh, I totally didn't blame you for that. See, I think a get-together like that, especially on the day of Beer Bike, could do with some beer. But being how it was at a pool, said beer should be IN CANS. Shiner comes in cans. You don't have to drink nasty stuff in order for it to be in that format. Grr.

You might find it interesting that at Fanboi's party, there were some rumblings among his friends about setting you up with the single female cousin at the next table. Fanboi said "not gonna happen."

Was that the red-haired girl? Cuz she was cute, and I kinda got the vibe that she was trying to get with me. But I'm a little unused to that kind of thing, so I could have been wrong. Pretty funny.
