As you may have guessed, I am in the process of removing myself from the active LJ posting community. I am on dreamwidth, and have backed up my journal to that account. I will no longer be cross posting to this one, but I haven't decided to delete it yet. -

If you are looking for a typical yuletide story, I can tell you that I don't have patience to write one, but what I do have is a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career in fandom. Skills that make me a nightmare for some types of readers.

quick update
MIL was able to feed herself and walk using a walker! Woo-hoo! That's a lot of progress from where she was, so rehab will be helpful.
on the story side, I cut about 2K words from the story, and now I feel like it makes sense. I need to write the rest of it, but it feels more doable now. Could be it's must a better day. -
It's been a day
I spent the day at madigan army medical center as my mother in law had a stroke last night. Her right side is affected, but she can still talk, which is great. She was able to move her hand some today (open and close it, make a fist, that type of thing) which is fantastic as she wasn't able to do that last night. Did you know that a pacemaker can be recalled? On Monday, my dad received notice that his pacemaker was recalled, and promptly freaked out thinking it was either going to a) burst into flames inside his chest b) short out and send a giant electrical shock through him or c) going to stop his heart. Today I made chicken verde enchiladas! One of the women I work with was going on and on about how good her 'healthy' version of the dish was, so I am giving it a try. Wow, our last episode was so long ago!
My life has been consumed by three things: work, construction of our backyard cottage, and prepping my dad's house for sale. Each of them is consuming more of my energy than I would want, but there has been a little movement on all fronts lately so I am a feeling more heartened today.

OMG Stories to A03 are DONE!
Wow, this is a milestone for me. At this point, I have every story I could find uploaded to A03. I know that there are other stories from the dawn of time that I no longer have working copies of, and a couple of Harry Potter stories that I can't find source for that aren't there, but everything else written has been migrated over.
