I woke up around 04:00 - it was 08:00 in Dubai and my body was tired of sleeping. For some time, I just lay on the bed with my eyes open, worrying about the interview.
Then Papa and Asif bhai woke up and we went downstairs [through the maze of staircases and hallways] to have breakfast. I didn't eat much because I was worried I'd get really

So sorry! I was planning to call you when I got there, but like a chump, I forgot that slip of paper which has your number on it, in my wallet back home. But it's ok, I was just in So'ton for two days and it wouldn't have been right for you to drive to Southampton from Portsmouth in the middle of the week.

The waiting will of course be the hardest part, but you have to mentally disconnect and get on with the daily grind - and, it's all a matter of perception: you may have thought that your answers were somewhere south of stellar; however, the interviewers may have thought the sun shone down from heaven and angels sang. Generally, it's somewhere in-between, but either way you did the best you could, and now, like most of life, it's a wating game.
Buena suerte!

Though I like your encouraging/uplifting words - I'm gonna think positive. Well, I'll try at least.
Thanks :)

And no, it wasn't me there, unfortunately! I probably would have given you a giant bear hug if it had been me. Even if you don't recognize me at first, you'll recognize me by that!

Anyway ... it sounds to me as though you did fine. These sorts of interviews are about getting to know the candidates more than anything else. They don't expect you to have a working knowledge of medicine, but more like, an interest. And an aptitude for learning more. Personally, I think your answers show that. But if they decide not to admit you, there are plenty more medical schools around the world. Come study in Tel Aviv :)

You really think I didn't do so bad on the interview? That's an encouraging thought.
Another friend of mine has suggested Tel Aviv to me. Because he lives in Tel Aviv too, haha. I'd love love love to go study there, but my Papa would never allow..

Hmm. You know what? Wait and see what happens. In any event, with medicine, I know that most places encourage students to do at least one semester elsewhere during the bachelor's degree - and then there's always the specialties, etc. It's a long path and I'm sure you won't be spending all of your time in the same university, wherever it ends up being.
There comes a stage, also, where it even becomes ok to do things that our parents may not think is wisest - but that comes a little later than where you currently are :)

I haven't got any concrete ideas about my postgraduate in medicine yet.. it's a long way off :)
