My all-time favorite actress
It isn't often that I'm "shocked" by the death of a celebrity, but I had to do a double-take in the wee hours this morning when I read that Debbie Reynolds had died. Golden Anniversary

Zootopia
I don't have enough superlative adjectives in my vocabulary to describe Zootopia.
One noun will suffice, though - masterpiece.
It is a furry parable that will make you laugh, break your heart, inspire you, and give you hope that we all may yet be redeemed.
Without a doubt, one of the best movies I have ever seen.

One of the better treatments I've seen of the experience of dying. (And the only one that features a fox!)
I think the soul's last spoken word is probably what we all will wish for most when that ultimate moment comes.
The best film about dying is "Waking Life," of course. I've been watching that a lot lately.

The coin in the center is a US one-cent piece: from 1849, to be specific. To the left is its Mexican denominational equivalent - un centavo - minted in 1888.

Monetas
This Mexican 1/4 real coin (called a cuartilla in its day) is one of my favorites. I got it a long time ago; long before I learned the significance of the year imprinted on it. (That's a U.S. quarter next to it for scale.)
