Since everyone is so excited about MatsuJun's movie premiere, and he actually updated his jweb for the first time in like 450980980 years, I decided to translate it. D:
As for the powerful thing, yeah, it sounds a bit off in english I guess, huh? In his english introduction at the premiere, he said "renowned University of Southern California," so maybe he kind of meant it in that sense? -shrug- I really have no clue. -shrug- I have no clue.
Ah, thanks, thats a much better usage. Clearly he believes that USC is a force to be reckoned with, but I couldnt really pinpoint it. Thanks, I'm going to change it to that. <3
Jun said "renowned" because USC is the #1 film school in the nation. The Film Production Undergraduate Program at USC is the hardest to get into and only serious movie makers can get in it. I think only 25 people can get in the program every year, very selective. Most of the people that want to get somewhere in the film industry basically want to go there because George Lucas, Andrew Zemeckis, Paul Newman graduated from there and even Clint Eastwood received an honorary degree class of 2007. One can meet influential people in the entertainment business there. Many of the members of the Academy of Arts and Sciences hold degrees from USC as well.
I dunno, chuckle quietly to themselves? Every time I go to a movie, when I see something I think is funny I laugh, but I'm like, the only person in the Theatre laughing XD Which is especially awkward when its like, full.
Wonderful! I've only come to find your translations recently (nino's gimmick game), but I love them! Love that you include your cultural usage and personal thoughts in your footnotes.
Never, ever apologize for posting too many translations! It's people like you who help me keep a connection w/ my favorite group!
