I've said since I arrived I disliked the idea of an Elevator 'choosing' to spirit away a victim.

Strangely, this place I found myself in proved extremely useful. I suppose a thank you is in order to whomever arranged for that. Perhaps gods, Edens, and Faceless Friends alike move in mysterious ways.

Do you know how long it's been, by chance? I heard it was a long time that I left before, as well. I wish I understood it better.

And I'll be fine. It was draining, exhausting, and times dreadful... but I survived. That is satisfying to me.

Ah, what sort of a place was it?

Oh Hawk, it was the strangest castle, yet not a castle at all! It was as if something had rent apart a castle and set the pieces drifting in the space the castle left behind. A tower hung upside down, stairs floated in the air unattached to walls, whole rooms turned on their sides...

And many dangers. It was the perfect proving ground.

It definitely sounds made for that. I imagine it must have been a challenge to navigate, besides! Was it somewhere you knew?

Knew like a half-remembered dream at best, but one place struck me particularly ... and odd what it was. A vat of acid or poisonous liquid of some sort.
