wallpaper and icons (and casting)

The other day I got this crazy idea to reproduce the Reboot posters using cartoon versions of the characters made at www.faceyourmanga.com's manga avatar generator. Of course, once I made the two main posters - Kirk, Spock, Uhura, McCoy, Sulu, Chekov, Scotty (and I added Chapel instead of Nero) - I started to get pissed off as always at the lack of ( Read more... )

Oh, very interesting! Thanks in particular for the imaginary casting info you included, it was fascinating to see them and compare them to who I might see in my own head for these characters. (no specific actresses, though) And a huge yay for reminding me of the sheer beauty that is Lieutenant Marsters! Woah, how could I forget her?!

I want moar women in the sequel but if they cast Kristen Bell as Rand, I may just die a happy woman. :D

P.S.: No Number One?

Thank you!

Well, I love Number One, but my posters are limited to what I see as the fantasy crew of the Enterprise, and I conjecture that she has been promoted to captain of her own ship already, since Spock was serving as First Officer on the Enterprise at the beginning of Reboot.

But for the record, my Number One is played by Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss on Criminal Minds)

Captain One FTW, yes! I like the actress you chose. Thanks for the additional info. ;-) I still hope TPTB will have more female characters in the sequel and Number One is one I'd be especially happy to see.

Oooh, I LOVE your casting! Alia Shawkat should be in everything, b-but especially Star Trek? Liza Lapira was charismatic in a small role on Dexter (I rather wish she'd come back, in fact) and I love the idea of a non-white Chapel.

Give Zvi the credit for the non-white casting, please! I agree that it was brilliant, obviously. I love Liza, and I think she has just the right ethos for Chapel - a bit of attitude, but also grace and a kind of steadiness/tranquillity/unflappability.

Liza Lapira has also been on Dollhouse, NCIS, and in the mostly-not-Asian movie-ization of that true story about the group of MIT students who took the Vegas casinos for tons of money... what was it called again... oh yes, 21. Also ER, and Cloverfield.

Helllls yeah Thora Birch and Alia Shawkat!!

And thank you sainfoin_fields for mentioning that it was Dexter that Liza Lapira was in. I remember the scene from the cap and it was driving me crazy that I couldn't place the show!

Actually that cap was from NCIS, where she was part of Tony's team when Gibbs was absent, and later did some spying for them.
