The other day I got this crazy idea to reproduce the Reboot posters using cartoon versions of the characters made at www.faceyourmanga.com's manga avatar generator. Of course, once I made the two main posters - Kirk, Spock, Uhura, McCoy, Sulu, Chekov, Scotty (and I added Chapel instead of Nero) - I started to get pissed off as always at the lack of women, and the result is these two wallpapers (and a lot of icons).
Freely shareable and no credit necessary for the icons, since they are not really my own art. Information and photos for the mental fantasy cast I used to make the avatars is also under the cut.

Fantasy casting information! I used photo references of the actresses to make all of these.
1. Christine Chapel: Liza Lapira. This suggestion was first made by
zvi_likes_tv, in this community I believe, last summer, and the finishing touch was put on my mental image when I saw a barista with her hair bleached white and tinted steely blue and I immediately thought that it looked like TOS Chapel's.
2. Janice Rand: Kristen Bell. Many people have talked about this before because she resembles Grace Lee Whitney quite a bit.
3. Charlene Masters: Nia Long. Lieutenant Masters is the geologist from The Alternative Factor.
4. Helen Noel: Thora Birch. Helen is the psychiatrist from Dagger of the Mind. She looks almost exactly like
Jennifer Garner, but I kinda preferred Thora Birch.
The last icon in the batch shows Tessa Thompson in science blue because I was also considering her as Noel, but decided not to:
5. Marlena Moreau: Alia Shawkat. In Mirror, Mirror, Kirk tells Lieutenant Moreau that she can be anything she wants to be. I hope that in Reboot, what she wants to be is on the command track, because she was smart and gutsy.
6. Tonia Barrows: Kristin Herrera. Yeoman Barrows, in Shore Leave, gives Captain Kirk a backrub of her own initiative (nevermind that he thinks she's Spock at the time). She also bosses McCoy around a bit, so she seemed a good candidate for command gold.
Here is the post in my journal where the regular male-intensive wallpapers and icons can be found.
