The other day I got this crazy idea to reproduce the Reboot posters using cartoon versions of the characters made at www.faceyourmanga.com's manga avatar generator. Of course, once I made the two main posters - Kirk, Spock, Uhura, McCoy, Sulu, Chekov, Scotty (and I added Chapel instead of Nero) - I started to get pissed off as always at the lack of

Oh, these are amazing! I looked at the ones above the cut and thought, "That looks like Charlene Masters" and when I saw that you'd depicted her I squeeeed. Oh how I squeeed.

Also,I am in love with Tessa Thompson now.

You can see Thompson in her current recurring role on Bones as Cam's adopted daughter. Plus, she was in Veronica Mars, if you want to go back in time.

I think that worked out well! I'm going to experiment on my own now I think, though. I feel inspired. :D

Plus, I want to keep with my re-casting theme and not make the icon based on Majel Barrett, so I'll use one of my reference photos of Paget Brewster.

Her hair was pretty cool in TOS! It vacillates between plain platinum and a kind of lavender- or blue-rinsed color and has some seriously wacky asymmetrical dos. Beehive meets Marie Antoinette costume kind of stuff, sometimes. Although they look supremely dorky, Chapel is obviously a bit of a hair fiend!
