Missing a movie

1940-ish. The first part of the movie's POV is that of the narrator who is talking about everything that has happened to him, and because of the trouble that he's in, he has to have plastic surgery. Nope, you're right, definitely Humphrey Bogart. The movie is called Dark Passage, and also stars Lauren Bacall. From about 1947.

Thank you! When I read the short synopsis at IMDB, that movie didn't even sound familiar. The one you linked to added the plastic surgery tag and the rest of the plot clicked. Thanks, again!
