Missing a movie

1940-ish. The first part of the movie's POV is that of the narrator who is talking about everything that has happened to him, and because of the trouble that he's in, he has to have plastic surgery. We don't actually see him. After the surgery, the narrator is revealed - and here's where the fun part is - I THOUGHT it was Humphrey Bogart. I swear that the voice I remember is Bogart's. But can I find it listed as one of his movies at IMDB? No. I can't imagine anyone else in this part, so I'm lost.
