(just copy-pasting my entry to thequestionclub because I am lazy:) I'm asking on behalf of my stepmother--apparently it's from the last 10-15 years or so, and involved a woman with green eyes who has some kind of pyrokinetic power and keeps making things explode as she searches for a girl, possibly in a school. No problem. It was one of my favorite goofy horror movies when I was younger (and before I found the movie, I loved the video game), so I recognized it right away!

In case your step-mother is interested, it's based on a novel, same title Parasite Eve, by Hideaki Sena. Available in English. Publisher is Vertical. I read this book after playing Parasite Eve game and its sequel. I thought the book was okay.
