'50s drawing

I came across this drawing on Tumblr and reblogged it 'cause I thought it was funny, but at the same time it looks really, really familiar. I'm pretty sure I saw it (or something that looked very similar to it) in a book or something when I was younger, but I have no idea which one. Anyone else come across this/a similar drawing in a book
