I have a song which I dubbed from a cassette that I can't find anymore. I know the album is called "Whiskey In The Jar." I don't know the name of the song linked above, and I don't know the artist. Anyone know ( Read more... )

No, "Whiskey In The Jar" is folk style Irish music. I looked up Thin Lizzy... that ain't it.

"Whiskey in the Jar" IS an Irish folksong, but it's been covered by many groups, including Thin Lizzy and Metallica. Makes it a bad choice for the title of an album, unfortunately. It's like calling your album "Greensleeves."

I think the song is called "Gartan mother's lullaby" and it was written by Barbara Dixon. I'm not sure who sings this version, but it's a well known Irish lullaby, so you can search youtube via that and hopefully find it :)....Google leads me to believe it may have been by The Dubliners/Spailpin album, I think this is the youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvoWbV0ZyFI :).
