Allmusic says Osibisa is an African-Caribbean world pop group from the 1970s, and they don't have any songs listed even remotely close to that title, so it sounds like they're different bands.
Couldn't find Osibasa or "Point Dark" on there, though there was a Japanese song called "Darkness Point", but it sounded more prog/experimental than acid jazz to me.
Since it was an email, there's possibly a typo (which you've already assumed).
What I do in this case is look at the letters that are next to eachother on the keyboard to try to figure out where they messed up. For example, "d" is next to "s", so maybe it's Odibasa? Or some other letter is messed up in there...
I'm sure that this will result in tons of different possibilities and probably wasn't helpful, but maybe you will get lucky.
