emo/electro song?

Not a lot to go on here, but. I caught a bit of an alt/electro/indie song I know I know, but couldn't place. The chorus is heavily vamped (it's just the same line over and over), the music sounds like it could be NIN or the Faint or any number of similar "new emo -- not the old emo -- and with a lot of synth!" acts, words more spoken than sung, ( Read more... )

those lyrics sound so familiar to me, too. wish i could put my finger on it for you.
a couple of band recs you might check out (as i'm looking through some of them, too) are architecture in helsinki, her space holiday and hellogoodbye. i can't place those lyrics, but those bands are similar to the type of music you described.

thanks for the leads, i'll try those bands and see what i come up with.

that's definitely the gist of the line, but google isn't very forgiving of rearranged words! i cannot believe i can't remember the chorus. that would make this about a zillion times simpler.

Possibly "Honour" by VNV Nation, which sounds a lot like Mariyln Manson + Trent Reznor. I think I downloaded the song via Limewire when it came up under "Nine Inch Nails," but it's by a band actually called VNV Nation. The song you're describing sounds like it may be it.
