*outside the university--a man with a flight jacket and messenger bag slung loosely over one shoulder, walking towards the park. it's a nice day, so when he gets there he sits on a bench, shrugs off the jacket and takes out his reading for class, today Emerson's Compensation. he tucks up his knees and balances the book awkwardly as he takes scrawly

*Francisco's furlough has been over for a while, but he still gets occasional days off--things have been dull while the brass has been getting the old watchtower refurbished, and so Francisco sometimes has free time for city-prowling. during one such excursion, he'll see a familiar face and trot over to the bench. his voice is warm, as always, but he softens the habitual carelessness* Hey, stranger. It's been strange not having you around.

Typist: Sorry about that. ^_^;;

*grins a bit sadly* I know. It's damned weird having to deal with all these students - I figured I'd be with you lot for the next few years. How's everyone?

Typist: 'S all right, this will probably work out. Otherwise there's always retcon - if it doesn't work he could be not-on-furlough.

Bored. *smile* Feel like we ought to be baking you cookies or something, just to fill time.

Typist: By the way, can I assume we're at the same time in the game as we are in RL? Bernardo's a bit religious.

*he really can't believe the uncanny resemblance between Bernardo and--but there's no way he'll let on how his stomach twists a little. he goes past as nonchalantly as he can manage, still favoring his sprained ankle a little*
