*and this is next summer, when Laertes said he'd visit; this time, Bernardo has it planned out so his dad and Laertes won't have to spend much time together, and they might be planning another hike in the forest*

*let's take this from some time after their last meeting, then--their communication has dropped off after the last round of Christmas cards, and Bernardo knows he shouldn't be doing this but it feels like leaving Laertes again and he just can't do it--he'll write to him on his birthday, then, the kind of card that Laertes wrote him for Christmas*

*summer break has ended, and Bernardo is back in London--what they predicted about how strange it would be has come true, though, and he's feeling a bit lonely as he fidgets with the end of a length of chain in his jacket pocket (that he'd clipped to the collar around Laertes's neck the night before he left)*

*make it the next day, then--after all, they have to see about getting to a therapist together, and there is no time to lose. over breakfast, he'll ask Laertes* Who do you want to ask first, if they know about anyone we can go to?

*Bernardo is living with his dad again, now; the latter has retired and Bernardo is running the bookshop. so if he's in Elsinore and he sees Laertes there to visit his family or for a conference or something, he'll just try to make himself invisible without leaving too conspicuously. now, this may not work as a scenario if Laertes doesn't notice ( Read more... )

*Bernardo is a week into his new job, maybe; he really likes it, and it seems like he'll be making more real progress than he was while working for his MP. still, it takes a bit of getting used to, and when he gets home on Friday he might take out a cigarette, and hesitate for a moment before offering Laertes one as well*
