This recipe over on AllRecipes works out great in the crock! I just threw everything in and let it run for the afternoon, and it came out very tasty. Maybe just a bit acid, next time I make it I'll probably add a bit of sugar to see if that cuts it back.

A spin off your regular split pea soup recipe and a great way to use up leftover ham! I used my leftover ham bone from Christmas dinner. The kids loved it. Have you all tried the Crock Pot liners from Reynolds? Holy smokes, talk about NICE. I can see them really coming in handy for when you make something with a tomato sauce that kind of burns onto the edges. I hate soaking and scrubbing out my crock. Just had this for dinner tonight, and it was very tasty. Lowfat too (as long as you use reduced fat smoked sausage). Just make some corn muffins on the side, and dinner is done. The only problem is, you will run out of sausage before you run out of beans ( Read more... )
