I know this isn't crock related (sorry!) but I use that stuff when I grill on the good 'ole George Foreman grill. I'd imagine it may be too strong all at once in the crock, but I've never done it!

i've used the garlic & balsalmic 30 minute marinade w/ chicken thighs in the crockpot plenty of times and they've always come out well. i would imagine the mesquite would be just as good.

I did that with a 30 minute mojo marinade and it was amazing. I'd definitely add some onions to the crockpot too, at the very least.

Just remember those bottled marinades tend to be very salty and some contain MSG so read the label carefully before you use it.

Sometimes I throw ribs + bbq sauce into the crockpot for a few hours, so I imagine that chicken + marinade will be fine as well.

Can you do this with frozen ribs?

Probably would be fine. I cook thawed ribs (rubbed with a seasoning blend) for 6 hours on low, or 3 hours on high. So maybe 5-6 hours on high? I would probably cook frozen ribs on high to make sure the internal temp reached an appropriate level.
