This is the model my mom has... as far as I know, the only time we've had a problem with it was when I left it on warm for about 5 hours after cooking something...
I have this one and while I like it, I wish it switched to warm automatically... still, no complaints and the ability to use it on the stove is VERY handy!
I have this 4quart, stainless steel Hamilton Beach. Like other people have mentioned, the pot itself is removeable and makes it super easy to clean. I've cooked a variety of recipes in it and have had success each time.
I read somewhere once that a lot of what people buy these days are technically "slow cookers" and they're not the same as the crock pots of old (ie, 1970's). Namely, the whole cooking too hot thing- crock pot recipes and slow cooker recipes not always being tranferrable between one and another. No idea if that's true or not... I guess the manufacturers would know.
