thanks for all your help with my
crock-pot dilema a couple weeks ago!
i did what i'm now calling "the chili test" to find out how my crock-pot runs. basically, i just made a batch of chili in the crock-pot, on low, and watched to see if it simmered ever so lightly like its supposed to. of course, in no time at all, my chili was at a rolling boil. i'm taking this to mean that many of you were right and my crock pot does indeed run at too high a temperature, even while on low. which of course boils the meat to the point of dry, tough, and decidely-not-tasty-ness (even when i don't accidently over cook it).
conventiently my father in law was having a yard sale this weekend, so i gave him my old crock pot (and a few other things we had lying around the house) and decided to put whatever profit i made towards getting a new crock-pot.
so... those of you who are having great success with your crock-pot, which brand or model do you use? do you like the larger size models or the smaller size better?
thanks again!
