FanFic goes mainstream in the WSJ
Today's Wall Street Journal, Pursuits section, p.1, lead article is "Rewriting the Rules of Fiction" a biggie article about fan fiction and the crowd at LJ and My Space. Its hook is 'discovering' the best authors amid the clumsy wannabes, but I cannot find the article online for a link. The WSJ site just offers an outtake sort of article focusing ( Read more... ) -

I write to the local paper on this issue whenever it seems appropriate and they never print my letter; indeed, they never print any letters on this subject at all. But today, edited and pared away with paragraphs scrambled, they printed one of mine.

Bedrooms and Hallways

I have just signed on to Netflix, probably the last person in the US to do so. My first movie was Bedrooms and Hallways, something I just haven't found to rent or buy around here. It's a British movie and not bad in the gay romantic comedy genre; Brit A list actors and some funny lines. All in all, not bad. I'm left wondering ( Read more... )
