*grumble* What's up with the Teaspoon tonight?

Jan 08, 2008 22:14

So in between watching CNN I'm refreshing the Teaspoon over and over for new fic, particularly the third chapter of a story I've been following and which I KNOW was submitted by the author 2-3 hours ago... and it looks like no new fic/chapters have been approved for at least two hours.

I know everything's moderated now and mods are humans who have ( Read more... )

Why is everything moderated now? That's a nightmarish job, and it's going to slow the site down severely - even if they have a dozen people reading.

(Does this mean the end of summaries that beg/demand reviews, though? Hey, look, a possible upside...)

It's moderated now because of bad summaries - the epic summary, the summaries that say this fic came to them in the bath while talking to their rubber duckie, and the summaries saying review me please or else I will leave fandom, woes. I'm sure there are other reasons too, but that's the main one.

Yes, they've completely stolen away my Summary Executions. Now I'll have to go to the Pit of Voles if I want to find something to mock!

I hate the wait the new system has created. What fic are you waiting on?

::pushes own fic for you to read while you wait::

Fic!

Waiting for Aerotica's latest in her Aurora Dances series - I love my Nine OT3 fics.

And that's your one? I did read the first chapter on Tsp - a little short *grin* - and was waiting to see what happens before commenting. My problem with post-TDD fics, though, is that I tend to have something of a one-track focus once Jack's on the scene ;) Before Jack I'm Doctor/Rose all the way, but once he's there I kind of prefer him to be involved :) Obviously a personal taste, but that's just the way I see the three of them when they're together.

How can you not? They're like the three giddy musketeers of time and space in Boomtown. Which makes me think of The Holiday (so adorable...).

But I enjoy seeing the love spread any way. :)

Start whumping on Rose. Nine will come charging in and demand to know what the hell you're playing at. Works every time!

That's... not a bad idea, actually.

YAY for more Heat Tolerance!

My muses seem to be indirectly related to the amount of time I have. If I have buckets of free time, the muses suddenly decide to go on holiday to Bora Bora. Now that I'm back in school, they're screaming like toddlers. I can't win. *shakes head*

I noticed the 2nd chapter of that fic took a while to go too, but I thought it was a glitch. :P Oh well. I will miss playing spot-the-11-year-old on the Spoon.

I did notice other changes, though, like the ratings system (now you can only rate a fic All Ages/Teen/Adult - but it makes marking a smutfic much easier. When is it R, NC-17, or Adult? *g*) and the elimination of the like/dislike thing from reviews (and with it, the thumbs-up).

Yeah, the like/dislike thing's gone, which I'm glad about - it was ridiculous, because ONE 'dislike' vote took away the thumb, which meant that if someone felt like it they could actually go through a whole slew of fic - or an author's entire work - and vote dislike. I found out that just one vote did it when I accidentally selected dislike instead of like on a fic I really loved. :( Reported it on whofic, and one of the techie mods agreed that it seemed to be a glitch in the proprietary software, but it didn't seem to be something they could put right ( ... )
