So in between watching CNN I'm refreshing the Teaspoon over and over for new fic, particularly the third chapter of a story I've been following and which I KNOW was submitted by the author 2-3 hours ago... and it looks like no new fic/chapters have been approved for at least two hours.
I know everything's moderated now and mods are humans who have

I totally had not noticed the changes on Teaspoon, but then I haven't been online much since the OT3 ficathon. The situation reminds me of a mailing list I was once a member of... there it wasn't all posts that were moderated, just the first bunch of posts by new members. Once you established yourself as a sane, non-whiny, non-antagonistic poster, you were taken off the mod list. It worked rather well for the several years I was a member there. One wonders if it might work on the Teaspoon? A cure for the horrible summaries without the annoyance of everyone's posts getting delayed. And less work for the mods as well.
Anyway... I've just finished sorting through almost 400 entries on my flist because I was foolish enough to get distracted by other things for a week. 400! I thought I'd never finish. Of course, now I have 30-some-odd backlogged posts I'd like to comment on. Most of which are fics, some yours, which is why I'm ranting about this to you. I'd be so lost without tabbed browsing....
And lately I've realized that I seem to have lost my Nine-voice. I've been writing Ten a lot, so it was unsurprisingly a bit hard to start writing Nine for the ficathon story. But now I'm looking through the Nine related entries in my Plot Bunny Pen (an actual text file on my desktop...) and I can't seem to hear him at all.
I mean, I'm all for whumping Ten. Honestly. But where did Nine go?
I'm lucky it's January and I'm off from grad school, because I think this fandom has eaten my brain. Halp?

My muses seem to be indirectly related to the amount of time I have. If I have buckets of free time, the muses suddenly decide to go on holiday to Bora Bora. Now that I'm back in school, they're screaming like toddlers. I can't win. *shakes head*

There's definitely an inverse relationship here... fanfic productivity = 1 / time available for fanfic. And it's so unfair!

And I know exactly what you mean - he's done it to me too, the bastard. Out! Out, damn you!
Welcome back, by the way! You've been missed. Hope you manage to catch up on fic soon :)
Oh, and does that mean there's a new Nine fic in the offing from you soon? Yay, if so... :)

I've read most everything I'd missed, but the things I want to comment on have been saved into a bookmark folder because I have finally caught the escaped plot bunny for my current WIP. Progress occureth!
As for new Nine fic, there are a couple of things I've been thinking about. I need to finish my current Ten WIP, and then there's a post-VotD thing that's been trying to eat my brain, too. But after those are done, I definitely want to write some Nine again.
Right now the best plot ideas I seem to have are a short, OT3-ish, gratuitous Nine-whumper tentatively titled Temporal Nausea, and a longer, slightly cracky, largely whumpy, entirely OT3-ish character study that involves Nine getting regressed back to a toddler.
Well, that, and a pre-DD fic where Jackie has to save Ten from himself so the two of them can go save Rose, and then all three of them can go back and save Ten. There being no typos in that sentence, have I mentioned lately that I love this fandom?
That being the handful of most-ready-to-actually-be-written plot ideas floating around in my head, do you have any preferences or thoughts? :-)

Fantastic! Have I mentioned that there's likely to be a Jackie ficathon in a few months' time? And that this idea would be perfect, if Jackie is a principal character? *loves Jackie*
As I ended S3 really not being much of a fan of Martha, I confess that I'm more interested in your Nine OT3 fics, though since I did enjoy VotD and see lots of emotional potential arising out of that I like the sound of a fic set there too. sensiblecat's writing a brilliant one where Ten goes straight to Jack after that (Safe Harbour), and versaphile wrote a gorgeous Ten/Jack first-time fic based on the emotional fallout from VotD, with a sequel - can't remember the titles of these, but they're on her LJ.
As for the icon, it's one of christn7's - I don't have it as a userpic (would you believe, 140 available and I'm running out of space!) but it's just perfect for that 'can't channel Nine' feeling, isn't it? Anyway, it's snaggable if you wish - just credit christn7. His other icons, if you're interested, can be found on teadis, his creative journal.

As for Martha, I'm ambivalent. I use her as a supporting character when convenient. The exception is my current WIP, which has her telling the story of the Doctor's delayed reactions to 42.
My VotD idea, apparently like many, sends the Doctor to Jack. But I like to think I've got an unusual twist on the idea, so I'm looking forward to finishing it and getting it out there for others to see. No Martha in that one, at all.
I don't actually use multiple icons on LJ... I'm way, way too lazy. But I've saved that one to a folder on my hard drive where I collect such things for posterity and my own continued amusement. :-)

And your VotD idea sounds very appealing as well. Yay! Keep working!
And whenever you do that timestamp meme on your LJ... I'll be there :)

I think it's partly the irony of of Jackie mothering a 900 year old alien, and partly the sheer wibble factor of her calling him 'sweetheart' and taking care of him. Whatever it is... it makes me melt, every time. ::happy sigh::
I keep adding bits to the VotD piece, it's distracting me from other things I'm supposed to be doing. Should be ready to start posting soon-ish. :-)
I'm really starting to look forward to that timestamp meme! The idea struck me as incredibly interesting the first time I saw someone else do it.

And, yes, I adore the thought of her taking care of the Doctor too. She really did adopt him, in a way, around about TCI, and I wish we'd seen more of her in S2.
Ready to start posting the VotD piece soon? Brilliant! I'll be looking out for it, and for the timestamp meme :)
