Zombie Story Reborn

March 18th, 2007

Nearly a year has passed since my last journal entry. The zombie herds have consumed the vast majority of the population, converting them like Mormons, against thier will. Our whole group has survived, save Sarrah and Ellen. Thier loss was tragic, but our minds conquered our hearts and our will to survive outweighed our love for ( Read more... )

"YES!", a voice cried out from behind the boulder as a slender man with a thick dark brown beard and cracked glasses jumped out and sprinted towards us. He was wearing tattered black pants and a lab coat soaked in blood and looked scared and helpless ( ... )

Twenty minutes pass and we are still traveling. A mild breeze kisses my face, as the Jeep progresses down the road. I have no clue where we are, but the word "lost" has no meaning anymore. Webster should edit his books. David is out cold and wedged between Arash and I. Maybe he finally feels safe, which strikes me funny... I don't feel safe.

As Arthur follows a tight bend in the road, a mob of starving zombies materialize. Arthur turns the wheel sharp trying to avoid them, and avoid him he did. What we did not avoid was the tree the front end of our Jeep is now wrapped around. After the spinning stops I open my eyes and look around at my team. The smoke pouring into the vehicle from the engine is making it hard to see.

"Guys, are you alright?", the Persian Diversion's voice coughs out.

"Yeah, I'm fine", I reply.

"Just a little shaken up...I'll be fine", says J.

"I broke my glasses completely", David chimes in. "I can't see shit."

"Arthur, how about you?", Arash asks. Nothing.J fans the smoke with his arms so he can see his ( ... )

J, Arash, and I sprint to the Jeep as quickly as possible. David stays where we were due to lack of eyesight. I try to open Arthur's door. It's jammed shut.

"I can't get the door open", I say in a shockingly calm voice.

J hops in the passenger seat and starts pulling on the steering wheel that is pinching Arthur's leg, but it is no use. He slaps Arthur across the face. "Arthur wake up!", he yells. Still nothing.

The flames are growing larger each second and I am starting to feel the heat. Arash opens the back of the Jeep and reaches in for something. He runs to the driver's door by my side and jams a crowbar between the door and the panel and pries at the door. I grab hold of the end of the crowbar as well and we combine our strength. The door pulls away from the rest of the Jeep about a centimeter. "Come on guys. You can do it, put your back into it!", J says from the passenger seat. A joke at a time like this?!?!? Damn it J. Arash and I pull the crowbar with all of our strength and the door springs open. As I reach into the ( ... )

Zombie Hospitality welt18 March 28 2007, 20:18:51 UTC
The pain runs through my body like a million pin pricks. I feel the warm blood seeping out of my wounds. Arash flails on the ground putting out the fire that is burning his pant leg. To my left, Arthur lies motionless on the ground. I see a dark figure sprint toward David and his undead nemesis. It is our ninja, J. He stabs his katana blade through the zombie's brain forcing it to unhand it's prey. David falls to the ground in a pool of blood. J pulls the blade out of the zombie's head and it falls to the ground as well. J picks up David and carries him back to us.

Arash kneels next to me with concern. "Hainsworth, are you alright?"

"I'll be fine, I just need some forceps and a bandage."

Arthur finally comes to. "Wha-at happ-ened?", he strains to say.

"We had an accident.", replies J. "We need to get to a hospital."

"Can you stand?", Arash asks me.

I force myself up to my knees and then strain to stand. The pain is much worse now. Time to cowboy the fuck up.David looks very sickly. We all know will turn soon ( ... )

I glance down the road ahead and J is motionless, staring into the darkness. A low pained growl in the distance is all I hear. Another bolt of lighting illuminates the path and I see it. A pack of dogs are gathered thirty yards in front of us. Their eyes are white as snow and there is a thick foam dripping from their mouths. They have turned too ( ... )
