Nearly a year has passed since my last journal entry. The zombie herds have consumed the vast majority of the population, converting them like Mormons, against thier will. Our whole group has survived, save Sarrah and Ellen. Thier loss was tragic, but our minds conquered our hearts and our will to survive outweighed our love for

"I can't get the door open", I say in a shockingly calm voice.
J hops in the passenger seat and starts pulling on the steering wheel that is pinching Arthur's leg, but it is no use. He slaps Arthur across the face. "Arthur wake up!", he yells. Still nothing.
The flames are growing larger each second and I am starting to feel the heat. Arash opens the back of the Jeep and reaches in for something. He runs to the driver's door by my side and jams a crowbar between the door and the panel and pries at the door. I grab hold of the end of the crowbar as well and we combine our strength. The door pulls away from the rest of the Jeep about a centimeter. "Come on guys. You can do it, put your back into it!", J says from the passenger seat. A joke at a time like this?!?!? Damn it J. Arash and I pull the crowbar with all of our strength and the door springs open. As I reach into the Jeep to grab Arthur, my foot slips on something. I look down and see a puddle of leaking oil and gasoline under the Jeep.
"Guys, we have to hurry, there's oil and gas all over here! It's going to explode!"
I grab onto one side of the steering wheel and J grasps the other. We both push it upwards, but it doesn't budge. Arash pushes me out of the way and wedges the crowbar between Arthur's legs and the wheel. He pulls and pries and the wheel gives in. It rises about two inches. Should be plenty. As I step back to allow Arash to pull Arthur out of the flaming wreck, I notice that the flames have ignited the gas and oil under the car. The flames catch Arash's pant leg on fire and he falls back dropping Arthur to the ground.
I yell, "J, GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE CAR!"
J leaps out and starts running the opposite direction. I step forward and grab Arash and Arthur by the shirts and lift one into each arm. I turn and start running but the explosion throws me to the ground. I feel shards of shrapnel embed themselves into my back, arm, and leg. As I lie there trying to conquer the pain I see David in the distance. A dark figure approaches him, but he cannot see it. I try to yell, but I can't find my voice. The wind was knocked out of me. The zombie grabs hold of David and lunges toward his neck. The glass shattering scream that David lets out could be heard for miles.
