Found my birth mom (again)...

Tonight when I took out the trash, I finally went to check my mail from yesterday. DHS has sent me another copy of my original birth certificate and the contact info for my birth mom. I had remembered right from several years ago when I got the information prior that she is named Pauline and is in Salem ( Read more... )

I know it can be stressful; I've had several friends who were adopted and who embarked on searches for birth parents, with varying results. I'm hoping for a good outcome for you!

Best of luck... I've never even considered searching beyond a few seconds. I have two reasons - she didn't tell my father I even existed & that tells me she really didn't want anyone knowing of my existence. She came from Ohio to Texas to have me (in my non-ID info).

Second is since I had a hellish childhood - the last thing I want is another hell of a mother.

Maybe I'm putting too much into this... but I figure probably the best.

I hope that you have the very, very best outcome possible. I think the neatest part would be seeing where my personal looks came from - where did I get the blonde hair, etc......

Fingers crossed & keep me updated!

Yeah, that's kind of why I kept putting it off, first after I got the contact info, and then after I lost it in justifying not paying for it again. I hope since she wants to be contacted that it'll be a good thing. and she's only about 45 minutes away from me.

I know she was a highschool student, and there is no father listed on my original birth certificate either, so I don't know if he ever knew that he had a kid.

With my medical issues like arthritis since middle school, and my recent medical diagnosis that might/might not be genetically related, it'd be interesting to know what else I have to look forward to, and where on the planet my ancestors came from. Most folks who know something about geneology etcetera say I have to be of scots-irish descent, but it'd be nice to know.
